About

I’m a creative person, driven by my curiosity into what makes people and culture tick. I’m also a great fan of empathy, as I believe it makes for authentic advertising and shaping perspectives.  

And I’ve been a lover and crafter of words since I could first hold a pencil. 

My advertising journey has taken me from top creative agencies in South Africa, to more of the same in Australia, the UK and the Netherlands. 

I’ve been fortunate enough to win international and local awards for film, digital, direct, outdoor, radio, print, media and even package and industrial design. My work has featured in Luerzer’s Archive (4x), Communication Arts (Twice), MusebyClio, Fonk Design Magazine, DesignTaxi and a PhD design thesis and is part of the permanent exhibition in Cape Town’s District Six Museum. 

I’ve been ranked amongst the top 20 copywriters in The Big Won/World Creative Rankings and the top 10 copywriters in South Africa. 

A big part of what I believe is growing people, and I’ve lectured and mentored students at the University of Johannesburg, Red & Yellow School of Advertising, Australian AWARD School and the Melbourne Art Directors Club. 

While I’ve worked on and lead accounts for brands like Audi, Volkswagen, Revlon, Qantas, Commonwealth Bank and KFC, some of my more recent endeavours have been for Philips. In this role, I’ve created a new global positioning for the Philips Male Grooming business, launched Philips first consistent global campaign and been creative director of Philips in-house Content Team. 

Most recently I’ve worked on classic South African and African brands like First National Bank, AB InBev and Mediclinic.

In odd moments off I take half-decent black and white photographs, sing horrific karaoke, garden obsessively and walk in all weathers.
